Streaked Top Free Pattern step by step Circular Needles

Hi knitters!! This is Be over here and I bring you this beautiful and easy pattern full of color, texture and super useful techniques that will help you to create this top and a lot of other clothes in a very easy and neat way.

Materials:

  • Circular needles 4.5mm
  • Cotton thread 350m/150gr, TEX 370, using 2 threads joined (S 100gr, M 150gr, L 200gr, XL 250gr). Color white, pink and beige.
  • Markers
  • Sewing needle

References:

  • YO: yarn over
  • K2 tog: - Knit two stitches together
  • K: knit
  • P: purl

Gauge (10cm x 10cm):
18 stitches x 26 rows

Pattern (multiple of 10)
Cast on 20 stitches on your needle
h1: * 3K, K2 tog, YO, K5 (rep from *)
h2 - h10: 20 stitches
h11: K8, K2 tog, YO (rep from *)

PATTERN REFERENCE SIZE: M

Measurements:
Widht: 86cm - 8cm : 78cm (140 stitches)
Height: 38cm (99 rows)
Armhole: 19cm (49rows)

Cast on 140 stitches
row 1-2: K2, P2
r3-10: knit following pattern with white (be sure to watch the video to see the technique to change the color, take into account every time you change the color the marker should be moved one stitch ahead so pay attention to the pattern to make the holes in the right position)
r11-15: knit with pink
r16-18: knit with white
r19-20: knit with pink
r21-26: knit with beige
r27-28: knit with white
r29-30: knit with pink
r30-37: knit with white
r38-41: knit with beige
r42-43: knit with pink
r44-45: knit with white
r46: split the piece in two (70 and 70 stitches) and knit as following until row 50. From now on we will knit only with white.
* P1, Slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over, knit following the pattern, K2 tog, P1 (turn the piece) purl following pattern, repeat from * until row 50


Split the piece in two again (32 and 32 stitches), this time we are going to form the armhole.


h51: * P1, Slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over, knit following the pattern, K2 tog, P1, rep from * until you have 4 sts left, then follow the video to knit and cast of these 4 sts (turn the piece)
h52: purl (turn the piece)
h53: P1, Slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over, knit following the pattern, K2 tog, P1 (turn the piece)
h54: purl (turn the piece)
rep from r53 to h54 until you have only 4 sts left on your needles. Always pay attention to where you are doing the holes of the pattern.

Once you have 4 sts left follow the video to knit the strap. Then, once you finished knitting the strap leave these 4 stitches in suspense, we are going to join them with the corresponding strap of the other side soon.

h51: Now we take the other half (32 stitches) and start the row casting off 4 stitches, then Slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over, knit following the pattern, K2 tog, P1 and turn the piece.
h52: purl (turn the piece)
h53: P1, Slip 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over, knit following the pattern, K2 tog, P1 (turn the piece)
h54: purl (turn the piece)
rep from r53 to h54 until you have only 4 sts left on your needles. Always pay attention to where you are doing the holes of the pattern. Repeat the process until you complete the 4 part of the top, then we are ready to join the straps. Take a look at the video to be sure you are doing it in the right way :)
