Hey there, fellow crocheters! If you’re anything like me, your hook is probably already moving at the speed of light to keep up with all the gorgeous inspiration popping up this year. 2026 is such a fun time to be in the crochet world, we’re seeing a beautiful blend of "vintage-inspired" looks and high-fashion silhouettes.
As a designer, I spend a lot of time looking at what's trending, not just because it’s stylish, but because I want to help you create pieces that you’ll actually love wearing for years to come. Here are the five trends I’m most excited about right now!
1. The "Poetcore" Aesthetic: Romantic & Timeless

First up is a trend that is very dear to my heart: Poetcore. Think romantic, flowing, and ethereal. This look is all about delicate textures that look like they’ve stepped out of a dream.
If you’ve been looking for that perfect "ethereal" project, my Jazmine Blouse was practically made for this trend. I combined a few of my favorite stitches to create a fabric that feels light and airy.
A little designer secret: One of the things I love about the Jazmine Blouse is how adaptable it is. If you aren't feeling the long-sleeve vibe, you can actually skip them and make a dainty summer top instead! It’s all about making the pattern work for your closet.
2. Texture & Statement Sleeves: The Braided Look

Say goodbye to basic shapes! This year, we are seeing drama in the arms and rich, tactile textures. Puff sleeves and braided details are everywhere. It’s a great way to take a simple garment and make it look like a high-end boutique find.
To capture this perfectly, I highly recommend the Braided Sweater. The combination of stitches creates these stunning braids that make the hours fly by while you're working on it. It’s full of texture and has that "wow factor" sleeve that 2026 is all about.
3. "Patina Blue" & "Cloud Dancer" White
Color-wise, we are moving into a very calm, sophisticated palette. Patina Blue (a soft, aged teal) and Cloud Dancer (a crisp, ethereal white) are the "It" colors of the year.
Using these colors makes your handmade pieces look incredibly expensive. I’ve found that working a textured piece like the Braided Sweater in a solid "Patina Blue" really makes those cables pop!
4. The Rise of the Balaclava Set

Matching sets are still going strong! Specifically, the crochet balaclava paired with a coordinating sweater. It’s "Cozy Couture" at its finest. If you’re nervous about the fit of a full garment, starting with a matching accessory set is a great way to build your confidence.
5. Modern Granny Core

The classic granny square has grown up! In 2026, we’re using it for more than just blankets. We’re seeing "modular" fashion, where squares are used to build structured vests and even tailored skirts. It’s a nod to the past, but with a very modern, "Slow Fashion" twist.
Ready to Start Your Next Favorite Project?
I know how it feels to start a new garment, sometimes those intricate braids or delicate stitches can look a little intimidating! I've been there too, which is why I include step-by-step video tutorials and diagrams in my patterns. Whether you're making the Jazmine Blouse or the Braided Sweater, I’m right there with you, showing you exactly where to put your hook.
I believe that crochet should be a relaxing escape, and there's nothing quite like the pride of saying, "I made this myself" when someone asks about your outfit.
